Dream of becoming a foreign correspondent?

Sign up for a month-long intensive course to learn how to work as a foreign correspondent with faculty who can help you develop the skills for working abroad.  We currently offer two month-long summer courses in multimedia and backpack journalism. Both classes fulfill a journalism elective but the experience will be much deeper than the three credits that you will earn.

Even numbered years (2010, 2012) Professor Dennis Chamberlin leads a small group of students to Poland, where he worked as a photojournalist for 15 years, and provides students the opportunity for an intimate immersion into Polish life.

During odd numbered summers Professor Chamberlin works with a group of faculty from other schools to provide ISU students an opportunity to practice backpack journalism for a month in Italy.

Both courses offer an excellent opportunity to hone your photographic and multimedia skills in an exotic foreign setting.
